Mi-SEX BATTLES TIE FIGHTERS IN COMPUTER GAMES FROM 1979

At 2:10 you'll see images from Star Fire.

Besides being an unofficial rip-off of Star Wars, this historic game has a couple of arcade firsts. It was the first cockpit game and the first game that allowed players to enter their initials for high scores.

Hmm... I wonder what three letters the band Mi-Sex entered on their high score?

I was playing the game in question at a little arcade in Folly Beach, SC that summer when a somewhat older kid (maybe 13 or 14) sat down on the seat next to me and attempted to make conversation while I was in mid-game, which struck me as a strange breach of arcade protocol. A few minutes later, I understood, when I realized he'd picked my pocket. I still like this game, nevertheless.
