Shopping in a grocery store during the spooky season is one of the best times of the year. Most stores have elaborate Halloween displays and all the seasonal packaging is a treat to look at. The grocery store newspaper ads were no different and most were adorned with fun Halloween imagery next to the eggs, bread, and meat. Feast your eyes on these ads from the past.

i once worked at a newspaper and originally i learned how to set ads with the old-school x-acto knife, cut paper, hot waxer, and Rubylith. The density of some of these ads makes me break out in a sweat of PTSD, lol. Also, i thought that one ad said "NO DISGUSTING VALUES" at first. I need more coffee.
ReplyDeleteAwesome collection! Sadly, the scariest thing is the rate of inflation! LOL
