I was first aware of Rick Baker when he was just a kid. He had a photo in Famous Monsters of Filmland. I don't remember much about the image but I think the caption was "Beautiful Monster"! I believe that he was a teenager at the time. My brother was really into monster makeup, I was often the victim of his latest experiments, so we paid attention to people like Dick Smith and the Westmore brothers.
