Today's post will only be clippings I found from the first part of the the 20th Century. Halloween from that era hits differently as it seems more mysterious and superstitious. Enjoy!
That second image lends fuel to the discussion Tom and i were having at his Stranger Finds blog last week or so about the origin of the "sexy witch" -- at first i couldn't think of anything earlier than the 60s, but he quickly brought up examples going back to at least the 1940s. Now there's this image from 1900! Maybe sexy witches have been around as long as grotesque depictions?

Ha, I came here to say the same thing.
Great collection. Love that this has been a time to celebrate the spooky and have fun for so long!
