THE MYSTERIOUS HAND OF RIPLEY

This is an old Ripley’s Believe it or Not charm that was probably a give-away at his first Odditorium at the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair or from one of his traveling Odditorium’s during the 1930's. It’s very small, just over an inch long and the metal has a nice green antiqued copper finish.

I’m not sure if it was based after one of his amazing items from his collection or just a weird little thing to “hand” out to the kids as they entered the Odditorium.

I’ve always been a big Ripley fan and I think every collector looks up to him as the ultimate collector treasure seeker and plus he was a cartoonist too!

Beautiful!
I take it you know Tim Burton's making a movie about Ripley?

Yeah, I think it's on hold for right now.

Looks like a hand of Fatima to me. Saw a lot of these in Israel when I was there 4 or 5 years ago. Of course, none of them said "Ripley's" on them.
