TRON 25 YEARS OLD

Happy 25th Anniversary to TRON!

I found this nifty 1982 video called Computer Realities on YouTube that was uploaded by filmsinfocus. It's about the computer effects in Tron.

1980'S ARCADE TOKENS

The video game token is now a symbol for the hundreds of hours I spent in arcades back in the 80's. No telling how many quarters I exchanged for these round brass coins. For me, they were as good as gold since they were my ticket to blast invaders, eat dots and save the girl from a giant ape!

I scanned a few of my favorites from my small arcade token collection. Be sure and click on the photos for a closer look!

1982 ATARI MCDONALD'S GAME CARD

Since my brother and I were such crazed Atari nuts as kids, we made our parents take us to McDonald's back in '82 all the time, so we could play this Atari promotion game. Here's one of the original game pieces.

1931 NATURE MAGAZINE W/ DINOSAUR COVER

FLEA MARKET FRIDAYS #16

Today's item is a revisit for me, as it's been on my long list of "what was I thinking when I sold it, I must've been crazy?" list. I sold it years ago and hadn't seen another one until last week and this one is in very fine condition, much better than the one I sold. I made some money off the first one and only had to spend a few bucks for this one. Looks like it was worth the wait!

The item I'm talking about is the September 1931 issue of Nature Magazine. It has a beautiful dinosaur cover painted by Garnet W. Jex.

Accompanying the article about paleontology work in the Badlands is another fine piece of artwork by Jex.

4 FOUND SNAPSHOTS FOR 4TH OF JULY

Here's four fun found snapshots for the festivities on the fourth. (Say that four times fast!)
This first one, I just found a few days ago and it's a classic BBQ image from the early 1950's.

Here's a 1950's All-American boy photobooth photo.

A 1920's makeshift liberty gal.

The last one is a proud early 1950's patriotic family.

1966 WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS THANK YOU LETTER

Dated July 18, 1966, is this thank you letter from Walt Disney Productions to a woman who apparently sent in a nice letter praising Disneyland. I wish this was signed by Walt Disney, but it's still an interesting piece. (Be sure to click the letter scan to read the letter)
