WEIRD MISSOURI IN BOOKSTORES
Weird Missouri hit book stores the other day and the front cover sports a photograph taken by me! The photo is of a giant statue of Mark Twain. This great piece of Missouri roadside was created by Larry Koelling and can be found at Clemens Landing on RT 61 outside of Hannibal.
This book is part of the ongoing series that started with Weird N.J. by Mark Moran and Mark Sceurman. Since then the two Marks have created a series of Weird travel guides with other authors or as they like to call them, the Weird Writers. Weird Missouri is written by James Strait, who has assembled some of the best weird stuff that Missouri has to offer.
I’ve lived in the Show Me state all my life and James has shown me some new places that I can’t wait to visit. Besides reading about all these great places, people and things you’ll enjoy checking out all the fun photographs including a few more photos by yours truly.
You can order Weird Missouri from Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Check your local bookstore too.
Now what does this book have to do with the 2008 Halloween Countdown? For all you Halloween minded folks out there - this book has some scary ghost stories and legends that will be perfect to read during this month. You see - this post does belong in the countdown after all!

Congratulations! Those books are a lot of fun and feature the travel destinations I'm interested in visiting. I'm glad to see you're a part of it.
That's pretty darn cool Todd, congrats. I need to pick up the Weird Georgia book one of these days and find some local craziness...
Is the Hyline Inn in there?
Thanks guys! Mike - Nope, it didn't make it in. Maybe that place is too weird or scary!
