FLEA MARKET FRIDAYS #82
Here's a recent score from the thrift shop! It's an old ashtray from
Bali Hai, the famous tiki bar/restaurant in San Diego. This Bali Hai has been around since the mid-1950s and is still serving up Polynesian good times.
Sometimes everything seems to come in pairs and just a few months ago I found another Bali but this one was from Long Island, New York.
The antique store where I found this ashtray was less than 100 miles away from the thrift store that had the San Diego Bali Hai. (Wow, that was much easier than jumping in a plane and flying coast to coast to get two tiki ashtrays!) Unfortunately the
Bali-Hai from Northport Long Island joined the big luau in the sky many years ago.

I'm from Northport and remember the Bali Hai! I even have a vintage mug. I would love to add the ashtray if you're ever willing to sell it or trade. Great local history but too bad it's gone!
