TIMELESS TOYS BOOK

I thought it might be fun to share and recommend some of the neato items that I’ve discovered this year that some of you might want to add on your Christmas list for Santa!

Today’s item was a gift I received for last Christmas, but I didn’t get around to reading it until this year and it is the perfect book to have during Christmas time. I highly recommend Timeless Toys: Classic Toys and the Playmakers Who Created Them by Tim Walsh.

Finally in one place we can learn all the tidbits and trivia behind all of our favorite toys and meeting the geniuses who came up with some of these amazing toy ideas. (Ok, for all of you who believe that Santa’s elves still makes all the toys in the world, you might not want to read this book!)

Learn how the Super Ball became Super or why a wall cleaner is related to Play-Doh. You’ll even learn about Barbie’s risque origins! (Oh my!) Any book that devotes three whole pages to Silly Putty is a winner! Oh, and a whole chapter on Marvin Glass, ‘nuff said!

I just noticed you can get this 298 page book with the snazzy color photos on the cheap at Barnes & Noble and I’m sure Amazon has a low price too!
