Neato-Aid Drink Mix Pack
Here comes #3 of the fake drink mix packs.
Big Fang doesn’t like to share his Big Fang Raspberry, so you gotta watch out when you want some. True, he does have big gnarly teeth but his roar is bigger than his bite, and his breath smells like raspberries!

Sorry -- For Illustration Friday
Oops, looks like someone is having a snack. At least he's sorry for knocking over the fish bowl and attempting to eat the goldfish!

Colonel Bleep
Atomic wow-cool, is the only way I can describe this amazing 'toon from 1957. Colonel Bleep is considered to be the first color cartoon produced for television. Our heroes Colonel Bleep (from the planet Futura), Squeek (a non-talking boy puppet), and Scratch (an out-of-time caveman) find adventure traveling through space and time. It was narrated by Noah Tyler, who filled us in on what was happening since the characters never talked.

Original King Kong Ticket 1933
A ticket to see the 8th Wonder of the World! This is my favorite ticket in my collection!
This ticket comes from the Strand Theatre located on Baronne street in New Orleans. It was built in 1917 and it had a Wurlitzer Style 4 organ.
I can just imagine sitting in this wonderful movie palace and the organ is being played before King Kong is about to start.

Original Spook Show Ticket 1958
Spook Shows were a big thing in the 1950's and 60's when everyone was monster crazy! This "Hollywood Monster Show" had the biggest monster stars appear live on stage with the Frankenstein Monster, the Killer Creature and the Mummy. I guess Dracula had a previous engagement and wasn't able to make the show.
I'm not sure where the Beyer Theatre was but I'm guessing it might have been Beyers in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, which has been closed for many years. I purchased this at an antique store here in Missouri, so it's a good chance that it's from there.

"Faint Check" from Revenge of the Creature
The Olympic Theatre in Cicero, Illinois must have been inspired by the great William Castle to promote this double feature of Revenge of the Creature (the sequel to The Creature from the Black Lagoon) and Cult of the Cobra with these “Faint Checks”.

Star Wars and the Beatles Collide!
This music video oddity from 1978 features Ringo Starr and Carrier Fisher singing You’re Sixteen. Enjoy!
Bondex Denim Iron-On Patch
My Grandmother was always sewing these into the knees of my jeans. They always made your jeans feel stiff and made it hard to bend your knees. I think she even put ‘em in my Sears Toughskins which were supposed to be indestructible. Eventually these sturdy iron-on patches were no match for a seven-year-old boy playing in the dirt and rocks with his Hot Wheels and Army Men!

Fat Boy & The Blob
This drawing is kind of inspired by the old sci-fi movie The Blob and The Angry Red Planet. I kind of feel sorry for poor fido, but I'm sure Jimmy will be joining him soon.

Manglors Manglord Action Figure Toy
In 1983 Ideal released their first set of Manglors. They were Manglizard, Manglodemon, and Manglodragon and they were packaged in plastic eggs. I believe around 1985-86 the line was revamped and a new set was released. This new set had Manglord, Manglosaurus, and Manglodactyl along with the Manglor Mountain playset that came with a Manglord and red volcanic slime! The figures were more colorful and instead of eggs they came in nicely illustrated boxes. Apparently both sets were a failure and were on toy shelves for just a short time.
1950's Halloween Robots Snapshot
A good friend of mine let me scan this amazing Halloween costume photo. She is one of the kids inside the robot costume and the little one is her brother. She said that her Dad made them from cardboard and painted them silver. I like that they have that movie serial robot look to them.

SMASH-UP DERBY
Kenner’s SSP Smash-Up Derby looked like it was a bunch of fun and especially after watching this old commercial it still looks fun! I always wanted a set back when I was a kid, but for some reason I never got one. Probably a good thing, since I would’ve probably lost all of the pieces.

1969 GENERAL MILLS SPRINGYS COMMERCIAL
1969 General Mills Lucky Charms & Frosty O’s Cereal Commercial.
This commercial is for the Springys premium offer of Bullwinkle, Rocky, Underdog and Lucky Leprechaurn. The jingle is so catchy you won’t be able to get it out of your head!

HAPPY MAY DAY FROM FRANKENSTEIN
Frankenstein wishes everyone a happy May Day!
Now run away because he'll soon be tearing off those flower petals and throwing them into the lake and I think we all know what happens when there aren’t any more petals to throw in!
